    Optimarc Lamps are super metal halide lamps made to replace High Pressure Sodium lamps in standard high pressure sodium fixtures. They are available in 250 and 400 watt sizes. Optmarc lamps should ONLY be used in fixtures equipped with HPS ballasts. Lumen output is approximately 28,000 lumens in the 400 watt model. Optimarc may be burned in any position.  Use in fixtures using an  HPS ballast, preferably a regulated lag ballast, such as the Advance brand with capacitor & ignitor
    One of our customers who grows orchids for a living who used our Vita-Lite full spectrum fluorescents for years, decided to try something to save energy costs; and, after switching to HPS, she had trouble with blooming as well as the color and shape of and number of blooms. We sold her this bulb so she would not have to buy new fixtures, and she was delighted.
